ISLAMABAD: To increase productivity and shield crops from pests and shifting weather patterns, artificial intelligence (AI) specialists have begun using cutting-edge methods in very conventional industries like agriculture.

TenX Chief Executive Officer Qazafi Qayyum has told the media that artificial intelligence (AI) may assist local IT companies thrive in international markets and overcome business obstacles.

"Many innovative start-ups are helping farmers improve their yields by adopting AI, contrary to the general impression that AI is only related to the defense sector or some advanced industries," he continued. He recommended that Pakistani IT firms concentrate on exporting AI products that are created domestically.

He emphasized that by combining data analytics, software engineering, and cloud services, businesses can spur innovation in AI and its application.

He said locally developed AI tools helped commercial entities, from banks to export-based industries.

Through data analytics, AI may support company expansion in sectors including manufacturing, financial services, telecommunications, and government.

Mr Qayyum gave the example of a Pakistani bank that has over 700 branches in the country, and after multiple mergers and acquisitions, customer data became scattered, impacting the bank’s ability to provide unified and relevant services.

In order to boost exports and raise the bar for the IT sector, he recommended that Pakistani IT companies concentrate on international markets with AI solutions.
