TANGERANG: On Monday, a 16-person Pakistani taekwondo team traveled to Indonesia to compete in the sixth Asian Open Kyorugi Taekwondo Championship, which will take place in Tangerang.

The Indore Stadium Sports Center will host the tournament from Tuesday through Friday. Over 275 athletes from the host nation of Indonesia, as well as those from India, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Nepal, will compete.

Haroon Khan (-58 kg), Numan Khan (-63 kg), Saud Alam (-63 kg), Mohammad Arbaz Khan (-68 kg), Mazhar Abbas (-80 kg), Ikhtsham-ul-Haq (-87 kg), and Hamza Omar Saeed (+87 kg) are among the male members of the national team, while the women's team includes Noor Rahman (-57 kg), Maleeha Ali (-73 kg), and Manisha Ali (+73 kg).

Lt Col Zeeshan Aslam is the head of the team, master Yusuf Karami is the head coach, Syed Sadaqat Hussain is manager and Faisal Nadeem Butt is the physio of the team.

A lot of preparation has been done for the tournament, according to Hamza Saeed, who will compete in the +87 kg division.

"We will have the chance to talk with our peers and professional coaches from other nations during the event, which will help us in the future," Hamza stated.

Noor, meanwhile, declared that she would not back down from a battle and would use her medals to share good news with the public.
