VOSTOCHNY COSMODROME: According to Russia's Roscosmos space agency, the country launched a Soyuz rocket early on Tuesday with 53 tiny satellites, including two Iranian ones, and two satellites intended to track the space weather surrounding Earth.

According to the agency, the two Ionosfera-M satellites carried by the Soyuz-2.1 launch ship, which took out from Russia's Vostochny Cosmodrome, will be a part of the space system for monitoring the Earth's ionosphere.

According to information on NASA's website, the ionosphere, which is the region where Earth's atmosphere meets space, extends between 50 and 400 miles above the planet's surface.

According to the Interfax news agency, each Ionosfera-M satellite has a mass of 430 kg and operates at an altitude of 820 km.

Four of the Ionosfera-M satellites will be part of the system overall. According to Roscosmos, the next two devices are scheduled for launch in 2025.

Two Iranian satellites, the Kowsar high-resolution imaging satellite and the Hodhod small communications satellite, are among the 53 small satellites, along with the first Russian-Chinese student satellite, Druzhba ATURK. Roscosmos described the launch as a “record number of Russian satellites simultaneously put into orbit.” Tehran said it was the first time Russia had launched Iranian satellites that were privately built.

Iran's state media stated in February that Russia had launched an Iranian research satellite into space that will use orbit to survey Iran's geography. Concerns in the West have been raised by the two nations' increased political, economic, and military relations in the midst of Russia's incursion in Ukraine and the Middle East conflict.
