KARACHI: Accept Technologies Pvt Ltd (PayMob) and Toko Lab Private Ltd have received in-principle clearance from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to establish themselves as Payment System Operators (PSO)/Payment Service Providers (PSP) and Electronic Money Institutions (EMI), respectively.
The two businesses will now build their infrastructure and preparedness within six months before requesting authorization to start pilot operations, the SBP press release said on Tuesday.
The SBP has also given HubPay Pvt Ltd permission to start pilot operations as an EMI after evaluating its preparedness to do so.
NayaPay, Finja, SadaPay, and Akhtar Fuiou Technologies are the four EMIs that are now operating commercially, while Wemsol, E-Processing System, and HubPay are in pilot operations.
YAP, Cerisma, and Toko Lab have in-principle approval to establish their readiness for pilot operations.
